Group Finance Manager

Kore Potash Plc is seeking a Group Finance Manager to co-ordinate mandated processes to ensure financial compliance in accordance with statutory, regulatory and policy requirements and to ensure effective financial delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
  • Co-ordinate the completion of the monthly, quarterly, half year and full year accounting processes, reports and tax returns for the Group in compliance with financial reporting requirements, policies and authority matrix
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual Group budget and co-ordinate processes to measure performance against budget, including variances and commentary
  • Co-ordinate the preparation, reporting and update on the Group’s cashflow forecast and maintenance in conjunction with owners and responsible for reporting on accuracy thereof, highlighting variances and reasons and identifying and raising opportunities to reduce costs
  • Co-ordinate treasury management including placing surplus funds on deposit
  • Co-ordinate the completion of the audit processes with the audit manager(s)
  • Monitor compliance with the Group’s financial and commercial policies
  • Co-ordinate the payroll process across the Group
  • Responsible for the full finance function for Group meeting reporting timelines, including year-end processes, local tax, international tax and regulatory compliance etc
  • Preparation and consolidation of the Group Annual Financial Statement as per International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and audit review
  • Review the Annual Financial Statements of Australian and South African entities as per International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and audit review
  • Review Republic of Congo entities Financial Statements as per OHADA compliance and audit review
  • Responsible for statutory requirements for the Group
  • Manage a remote finance team
  • Determine staffing levels appropriate for financial activities
  • Take personal responsibility to develop team members through constructive feedback, allocation of assignments / projects, coaching and formal training to build capability and competence
  • Continually seek to understand key market drivers and emerging trends (e.g. economical, technology)
  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relations both internal and external and in multicultural environments
  • International travel will be required as part of the UK role

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed:

Qualifications (Essential):
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline
  • Postgraduate qualification in International Tax
  • Qualification in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Member of a professional Accountancy Association – Qualified Business Accountant
  • Member of a professional Tax Association
Skills and Experience (Essential):
  • 10+ years financial and tax compliance work experience
  • 5+ years experience and knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Tax
  • 4+ years experience in-house managing group company overseas subsidiary finance, tax and regulatory matters for an international environment
  • Previous experience and knowledge of OHADA regulations
  • Previous experience in managing remote finance teams
  • Previous experience of managing financial compliance and tax matters for the UK, Australia, South Africa and the Republic of Congo
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Moneysoft Payroll, SAGE and Xero accounting packages
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels across a diverse cultural environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Strong active listening and interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution and negotiations
Skills (Desirable):
  • Business English and French will be advantageous
